HAIKU THE NEWS

All your news in Haikus

After spending a lot of time on doomscrolling feeds, I wanted to reframe news through something lighter. Haiku the News turns headlines and trending stories into bite‑size poetry. Instead of scrolling endlessly through outrage, you can enjoy the day’s events as 5‑7‑5 syllable haikus. It’s both a creative challenge and a reminder that news can be digested differently.

What it does:

  • Pulls trending news and culture stories from trusted sources.

  • Summarizes them and compresses their essence into haiku form.

  • Lets you pick topics or exclude subjects you don’t want to see.

  • Offers alternate poetic modes if haiku isn’t your thing.

I built this as a counterpoint to DARE (the anti‑doom scrolling GPT). Sometimes you still want to know what’s happening, but you don’t need the full firehose. Reading the news as haiku is like listening to headlines through a wind chime.

Experience Haiku the News and let the world sing to you. You’ll find more playful experiments throughout Promptober at harbinger.ai/promptober.
